What we talk about... 

Exploring Phill's conversation starter at the Unconventional Breakfast in June 2021, titled 'Data Management,who cares?!', this podcast dives a bit deeper into the idea data entry, responsibility, top-down or bottom-up implementation of data practice, training, and the future of external data sources to simplify the customer journey when it comes to providing information (over and over and over and over again!). 

   We start with talking about whether Phil and Sarah actually care about data, and if so, why!

  We go on to explore how to get staff at all levels involved in thinking more consistently about data, and whether it's useful to think in terms of 'who is/was at fault' when we need to ensure data quality.

  There is a lovely discussion about top-down or bottom-up implementation and uptake of using dashboards and data to draw out what is important to know and for whom!

  We also talk a bit about the need to ask ourselves, for every bit of information that we ask people to put effort into collecting it: WHY do we need it (now)? 

  We finish thinking about the future of external data, such as Experian, but also perhaps centralised government-led data via 'citizen portals', to save people
